Bento Box /Ferment

Food is an architectural analogue: A constructed material artifact with tectonic qualities and sensorial affects, food operates at a range of scales - from the chemical reactions involved in its making, to the socio-cultural context that it reflects and in which it is consumed.

Designed to accommodate the incubation and production, as well as the consumption of yogurt and an accompanying meal for two, Bento Box /Ferment addresses the discrepancy between the traditional culture of yogurt making and its modern, industrialized context of consumption.
